If
OnDropreturns nil or a replacement that is not smaller, reclaimBlockedPathkeeps the original droppable event but later setspath.reclaimedto true. Memory control then excludes that blocked path from future release requests. The payload can remain under memory pressure indefinitely. Reconcile the drop and queue accounting for these outcomes, or leave the path eligible for another reclamation strategy. (raw.githubusercontent.com)🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Detach queued source IDs from TargetMessage so reclaimed payloads become collectible. Add regression coverage for blocked syncpoint paths and move scan-delay failpoint helpers into a separate file.

Please explain why need this
There was a problem hiding this comment.
requiredTs represents the batch currently cached for redo progress. Once HandleCacheEvents takes that batch out of the cache, it clears the old wait before replaying it. If redo is still behind, HandleEvents calls cache again and publishes the required TS for the new cached wait; if redo has caught up, the old wait must no longer pause scans. Clearing before replay also prevents completion of an older batch from erasing a new wait that starts during its wake callback. TestScanPauseFollowsRedoWaitLifecycle covers the retry and back-to-back wait cases.

This behavior is different: first, the feedback path is released, and then the memoryReleaseCount is incremented by 1. Please make sure there are no issues here.

Good point about the ordering. feedback.Release() returns true when the release request has entered the dynamic stream owner's queue; it does not mean the owner has already reclaimed bytes. The previous c.ds.Release(path) also enqueued work, while the counter was incremented before that enqueue. The new ordering counts only accepted requests, so a removed path or full owner queue is not counted. Actual available memory in the quota report comes from the owner's memory accounting, not this counter. MemoryReleaseCount remains a request count rather than an exact count of completed reclamations, so it should not be used to infer freed bytes.

Is ' feedback. Release () ' the same as c.ds.Release(feedback.Path)? Why update this?
There was a problem hiding this comment.
They both enqueue a release event, but differ under races. c.ds.Release(feedback.Path) looks up the path ID again; after remove/recreate, delayed feedback could act on a replacement path. feedback.Release() closes over the original pathInfo, and the collector also checks that feedback.Dest is still the registered dispatcher. The callback rejects removed paths and uses a nonblocking enqueue, so a full owner queue can be retried by a later pressure check without blocking feedback processing or shutdown. The owner still rechecks path state before reclaiming. TestReleaseFeedbackKeepsOriginalPathIdentity covers the replacement-path case.

It is better to be called in the HandleEvents function
There was a problem hiding this comment.
I kept requiredTs.Store in cache() because it needs to run under cacheEvents' lock, after the removal check. Remove() clears requiredTs under the same lock. If I move the store directly into HandleEvents(), a concurrent removal could clear it first, then HandleEvents() could publish a new wait even though cache() rejects the batch. Keeping it here also means a retried batch publishes a new wait only when it is cached again.

Merge upstream/master at 286f987 into the PR branch. Update the new zero-quota scan gate to use the package-local skip counter after the upstream metrics migration, and remove the redundant mode conversion flagged by lint.
Bring upstream commit 8733e7b into PR pingcap#6549. The MySQL integration test now disables TiDB error redaction before mysql-tester compares its existing golden results.

What problem does this PR solve?
Issue Number: close #4605
Fast dispatchers waiting for syncpoints or redo can exhaust shared memory, preventing lagging dispatchers from advancing the dependency.
What is changed and how it works?
Shared quota reflects actual memory. Owner-controlled accounting, nonblocking requests and identity checks protect reclamation.
