eventservice: preserve spilled inserts on scan retry - #6668
A failed scan of a split large transaction can delete deferred inserts from earlier fragments after their row cursor has already been published. An in-place retry resumes after that cursor, so the inserts can be lost.
What is changed and how it works?
Save the existing spill offset and phase before each original-row scan. On failure, truncate only records written by that attempt and restore the phase; clean up the spill only when the failed attempt created it. If rollback fails, complete it before another scan or drain. Delay same-commit DDL spill cleanup until the iterator closes successfully.
Add deterministic tests for append and iterator-close errors after a published fragment, plus a partial spill record and a failed rollback. They verify that each row's delete and insert appears once after retry.
Check List
Tests
Unit test: go test -tags=intest ./pkg/eventservice ./pkg/spill -count=1
Unit test with race detector for the new regressions and same-commit DDL path
Questions
Will it cause performance regression or break compatibility?
No compatibility change. An active large-transaction spill adds one file-size check per original-row scan attempt.
Do you need to update user documentation, design documentation or monitoring documentation?
No. This changes internal scan failure recovery.
Release note
Fix a potential data loss when retrying a large transaction after a spill write or iterator-close failure.
Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Improved recovery when scanning large transactions encounters an error. Retrying preserves transaction progress and helps prevent rows from being skipped or emitted more than once.
Improved recovery after interrupted spill-file writes, allowing scanning to resume after missing data is restored.
Improved handling of completed large transactions before processing the next transaction, including when both share a commit timestamp. Spill data is cleaned up after successful processing.
A failed original-row scan used to delete inserts from earlier fragments even
though their row cursor was already published. Keep a per-attempt spill offset
and roll back only the failed attempt before scanning again.
Cover append and iterator-close failures, partial writes, and a failed rollback.

The scanner now checkpoints large-transaction spill state before an original-row scan and restores it when scanning or iterator closing fails. Cleanup is deferred until a successful scan completes. Tests cover retries, rollback recovery, event ordering, and changes to the TiDB MySQL test command.

Layer / File(s)
Summary
Spill checkpoint and rollback pkg/spill/record_file.go, pkg/eventservice/large_txn_state.go, pkg/eventservice/large_txn_spill_test.go
RecordFile adds size and truncation operations. Large-transaction state saves and restores original-scan checkpoints. A test covers rollback recovery after a partial write.
Scanner rollback and deferred cleanup pkg/eventservice/event_scanner.go, pkg/eventservice/txn_scan_strategy.go, pkg/eventservice/event_scanner_test.go
The scanner recovers pending rollback, snapshots before scanning, and rolls back failed scans. Spill cleanup is scheduled at EOF and runs after a successful scan and iterator close. Tests cover append and iterator-close failures, retries, and event ordering.

[#6415] The scanner checkpoints spill offset and phase, rolls back failed attempts, and completes pending recovery before retry. Cleanup waits for iterator close. Tests cover append and close failures after a published fragment, partial writes, failed rollback, and exact row counts after retry. The supplied evidence supports the existing drain rollback behavior.

Explanation
[#6415] The scanner, spill, and regression test changes support scan retry recovery. The comment and argument quoting changes in tests/integration_tests/tidb_mysql_test/test.sh concern MySQL golden results, not spill recovery. The global redaction setting was already present at the merge base. An incremental scanner diff also shows a redo test failpoint, but its inclusion in the whole PR is not established by that diff.

Cover a close failure after a published spill reaches same-commit DDL cleanup.
The close-error case at event_scanner_test.go:929-939 fails its only scan before any spill exists, so it never reaches the deferred cleanup path. TestEventScannerKeepsPublishedSpillOnOriginalScanRetry injects a close failure after a published spill. Its DDL keeps the helper's default FinishedTs, so the same-commit flag is not set. A regression that clears the spill on a close failure only when cleanupLargeTxnAfterScan is set would pass both tests.
Add a case with a published spill and a same-commit DDL. Set the DDL FinishedTs to the commit timestamp of the spilled update, as the same-commit test does at event_scanner_test.go:919-921. Make the failing scan reach the transaction boundary, where the flag is set. Assert that the spill state and its file size survive the close failure, and that retries emit each row once.

This is intentional. rollbackOriginalScan calls cleanupLargeTxnState if the failed scan created the spill state. If a spill already existed before this scan, it truncates the file to the checkpoint and preserves the published inserts for retry. Cleaning it up unconditionally here would recreate the data loss in #6415.

Same reasoning applies to an iterator close error: rollback removes a spill created by this scan, but preserves any previously published spill at its checkpoint so the retry can emit those inserts.

The scanner tests do not fail rollback, and the rollback test bypasses scanner.scan. A regression that removes the scanner recovery call can therefore pass both tests. Inject a rollback failure after the first published fragment, then retry through the scanner and assert that each insert appears once.

What problem does this PR solve?
Issue Number: close #6415

Tests
go test -tags=intest ./pkg/eventservice ./pkg/spill -count=1Questions
Will it cause performance regression or break compatibility?
No compatibility change. An active large-transaction spill adds one file-size check per original-row scan attempt.
Do you need to update user documentation, design documentation or monitoring documentation?
No. This changes internal scan failure recovery.
