Feature Request: API Endpoint for Authenticated User's Followed Channels #134

Closed

Description

@devtibi

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Developing third-party applications (e.g., browser extensions) that need the authenticated user's followed channel list is currently blocked because there's no public API endpoint to retrieve this specific data. We can get the user's own info (/public/v1/users) but not the list of channels they follow.

Describe the solution you'd like
Please provide a public API endpoint (e.g., GET /public/v1/users/following or similar) that returns the list of channels (ideally with identifiers like slug and/or ID) followed by the user authenticated via a standard OAuth bearer token.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Checked official documentation (docs.kick.com) and confirmed with Kick support ([techsupport@kick.com] that this endpoint is currently unavailable. Manually asking users to input channels they follow within the app is a poor user experience compared to leveraging OAuth. Guessed potential V1 endpoints resulted in 404s.

Additional context
This endpoint is crucial for tools like browser extensions aiming to provide personalized features based on a user's followed list (e.g., aggregated live feeds, notifications). Kick Support confirmed this is planned for the future; this request adds developer support for its prioritization.
