Android and Apple builds treat an existing dependency prefix as a completed installation, including after an interrupted extraction. Record the selected dependency inputs, stage replacements before publishing them, and retain the previous installation if preparing a replacement fails.
--use-existing-depsuses the existing target prefix without updating it.
