Add sof-{ptl,lnl,arl}-sn624x.tplg for Senary SN624x SDCA SoundWire #11167
Intel sof-soundwire machine match for Senary SN624x requests named
topology files such as:
sof-ptl-sn624x.tplg
sof-lnl-sn624x.tplg
sof-arl-sn624x.tplg
(Kernel ACPI entries now in ASoC for-7.4.)
If the named file is missing, SOF probe fails with -ENOENT and there
is no sound card, even though runtime may later use function topologies
(sof-sdca-*.tplg).
Kernel status
SN624x SDCA series applied to broonie/sound for-7.4:
Add topology source / build rules in this repo to generate the named sof-*-sn624x.tplg files, and/or
Accept binary placement for sof-bin / linux-firmware packaging
I can attach binaries for ARL/LNL/PTL named files and follow up with a PR
once the preferred layout is clear.
Filenames must not use a -2ch suffix (kernel match uses sof-arl-sn624x.tplg).
Attachments
sof-ptl-sn624x.tplg
sof-lnl-sn624x.tplg
sof-arl-sn624x.tplg
SHA256SUMS.txt
Note: the three attached binaries are currently byte-identical named
stubs used so probe can find the ACPI default filename; runtime then
switches to SDCA function topologies. Happy to replace with properly
built per-platform topologies if that is preferred.
@wangxiaohu2026 Instead of creating new topologies for sn624x, can you change .sof_tplg_filename = "sof-arl-sn624x.tplg" to .sof_tplg_filename = "sof-arl-dummy.tplg" to use the function topologies? Same as ptl, lnl, etc.
We’ll follow your suggestion and update the ASoC ACPI machine match tables to use the dummy topology filenames, e.g.:
.sof_tplg_filename = "sof-arl-dummy.tplg",
.get_function_tplg_files = sof_sdw_get_tplg_files,
(and the same for ptl / lnl / mtl as applicable), instead of adding dedicated sof-*-sn624x.tplg binaries.
On our validated PTL/WCL platform, runtime already ends up on the SDCA function topologies (sof-sdca-jack-.tplg, sof-sdca-1amp-.tplg, sof-sdca-mic-.tplg). The named sof--sn624x.tplg files were only stubs so probe could find the ACPI default filename. Using *-dummy.tplg should remove that sof/sof-bin packaging need while keeping function-topology selection.
Plan:
Send a kernel patch (broonie/sound / ASoC) to switch sn624x sof_tplg_filename to sof-*-dummy.tplg
Re-validate card probe + playback/capture on our hardware after that change
Drop the request for new sn624x topology files in this repo / sof-bin
I’ll post a follow-up here once the kernel change is posted / verified. Unless you prefer otherwise, I think this issue can then be closed as not needing sof topology work.

@wangxiaohu2026 Any progress? The sn624x drivers are applied with the monolithic topology.
There is a new issue reported. thesofproject/linux#6002 It will meet the missing topology issue if we don't change to dummy topology.
I've re-validated on a Wildcat Lake (PTL match table) laptop with SN6244:
with sof-ptl-sn624x.tplg removed, the card probes using function topologies
(sof-sdca-jack-id0, sof-sdca-1amp-id2, sof-sdca-mic-id4, sof-hdmi-pcm5-id5).
Speaker / headset / DMIC / HDMI playback and capture work.
The patch is on linux-sound:
[PATCH] ASoC: Intel: soc-acpi: use dummy topology for SN624x
It changes sof--sn624x.tplg to sof--dummy.tplg for MTL/ARL/LNL/PTL
(Fixes: 32f9c551a91a).
Please take a look when you have a chance.
Thanks,
Qianghua

When used dummy topology,I fixed one record 4 channels issue:Patch 1 in ucm. ucm2: sof-soundwire: SN624x capture is stereo, Patch 2 in linux kernel(is up stream not be merged): 0001-ASoC-codecs-sn624x-sdca-limit-DMIC-capture-to-2-chan.patch,these patachs may work on your test.

Thanks. Sounds great to me. Just remember to re-validate before sending the patch.
