Already satisfied on master: ps_island.c initializes once (pthread_once), releases the GIL with PyEval_SaveThread after init, and every entry re-enters through PyGILState_Ensure/Release, with the failure paths releasing too. Receipt: tests/test_threading_stress.py::test_island_call_from_four_threads passes (island call from 4 threads), and boxed_cost.py reports tax 0 and drop_flag false. Closing; #553 and #157 build on it.
