Currently, Miri supports the minimum possible syscalls needed to make the ecosystem work under Miri. If a syscall is used in most Rust codes using its libc function, Miri only has shims for the libc function and not the syscall. #5303 shows how it could be done, but it needs having signature for syscalls supported by miri functions. I estimate ~50-100 syscall out of ~450 linux syscalls are supported by Miri shims, which would result in having ~300 lines of boilerplate code in miri shims + a test covering them.
This issue intends to collect usecases for this, so if you have a Rust project that uses syscalls directly without libc wrappers, and you want to test your project under miri, please comment your usecase so it may change the cost/benefit ratio.
