fix(olm): fix olm installation, set segment telemetry to test mode - #487
Code quality ensured. The pre-commit utility can be used to generate the necessary content. Run pre-commit run --all-files to run the hooks and then push any resulting changes. The pr-checks Workflow will enforce this and warn you if needed.
This review ran on the open-source allowance, not this organization's plan, because the pull request author doesn't have an assigned seat. Waiting won't change this — ask an organization admin to assign them a seat, or add seats in Billing if every seat is already assigned, then retry.
RHDH deployments can now use configured application and catalog-index images.
Network access for directory services and OAuth-related traffic is configured during OLM installation.
Pull-secret configuration is updated for OLM deployments.
Configuration
Segment test mode is enabled in the Helm and OLM deployment configurations.
The deployment scripts now pass configured RHDH and catalog-index images through OLM configuration, handle catalog responses without items, and apply OLM network policies. Helm and OLM templates set SEGMENT_TEST_MODE; the OLM resource places the pull secret in the deployment pod template.
Changes: RHDH deployment setup
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Catalog and image configuration ci-scripts/rhdh-setup/deploy.sh, ci-scripts/rhdh-setup/install-rhdh-catalog-source.sh
The catalog count query returns -1 when the response lacks items. The OLM setup passes a configured RHDH image to the catalog-source script, which adds it as RELATED_IMAGE_backstage when nonempty. The setup also configures CATALOG_INDEX_IMAGE on the dynamic-plugin installer init container when catalog-index image settings are provided.
The Helm and OLM templates set SEGMENT_TEST_MODE to true. The OLM resource places rhdh-pull-secret in the deployment pod template. OLM setup applies policies allowing TCP egress on ports 389 and 636 and TCP ingress on port 7007 from the specified OAuth2 pods.
The OLM deployment path now isolates Backstage egress to LDAP ports only. This can break name resolution and database connectivity, so the OLM deployment may fail to start or serve requests. The catalog-index image override is also silently ignored, and the code-quality check currently fails. Resolve these before merging.

Full details: Description check
Explanation
The PR description contains only the template comment and an unchecked-in-body but checked-in-list pre-commit item. The 'Description of the change' section is empty; it still holds only the HTML comment placeholder. The PR does not state what was fixed in the OLM installation, why the RHDH image override and catalog-index image handling changed, why SEGMENT_TEST_MODE was enabled, or why network policies were added. The only checklist item is ticked, but the description gives no test evidence.
Resolution
Complete the 'Description of the change' section. Cover these points: (1) the OLM installation fix, including the removal of the RHDH application image override from the OLM manifest and the new CATALOG_INDEX_IMAGE handling on the dynamic-plugin installer init container; (2) the new RHDH_IMAGE variable in install-rhdh-catalog-source.sh and the RELATED_IMAGE_backstage entry it adds to the Subscription; (3) the reason for setting SEGMENT_TEST_MODE to "true" in the Helm and OLM templates; (4) the reason for moving the imagePullSecrets to the pod template; (5) the purpose of the new network policies for LDAP egress on ports 389 and 636 and Backstage ingress on port 7007; (6) the change in get_catalog_entity_count that returns -1 when items is missing. State how you tested the OLM installation, or confirm the test run results.

The OLM template has no spec.deployment.patch.spec.template.spec.initContainers entry. Therefore, when the catalog-index override is configured, the yq selector matches no install-dynamic-plugins container and does not add CATALOG_INDEX_IMAGE. Add a patch entry named install-dynamic-plugins with an env list, or use an existing supported patch path.
