Interactive mode loses history randomly and unexpectedly #1117

I will use oci -i then run a command. Then will oci -i again, up arrow to retrieve the previous command, modify the command and run a second time. I'll do the same, perhaps up arrow a few times to an earlier command. Then, without apparent cause, I'll oci -i and now entire history is gone. Up arrow shows nothing. I've not closed the shell window or done anything different than the multiple times it will work so I can't pinpoint what's happening.
