USHIFT-7585: remove ginkgo/openshift-tests-private test harness - #7604
Epic USHIFT-6690 migrated all MicroShift coverage from openshift-tests-private (OTP) to Robot Framework. #7571 ports the last apiserver cases. After that, the @lrel ginkgo scenarios add no coverage, but every release run still clones a private repo and builds extended-platform-tests from a pinned OTP commit.
test/bin/scenario.sh: remove run_ginkgo_tests. setup_oc_and_kubeconfig stays because the lvms-standard upgrade scenarios use it; only its "for ginkgo tests" comment is reworded.
test/bin/common.sh: remove GINKGO_TEST_BINARY and HANDLERESULT_SCRIPT (handleresult.py was copied from the OTP repo).
scripts/fetch_tools.sh: remove gettool_ginkgo and the /tmp/token-gitGITHUB_TOKEN setup. The ginkgo build was its only user.
test/bin/ci_phase_boot_and_test.sh: remove the ginkgo pre-fetch for releases scenario sources.
test/bin/common_versions.sh and test/assets/common_versions.sh.template: remove the OPENSHIFT_TESTS_PRIVATE_REPO_* pin.
Not touched:
go.mod/vendor/deps ginkgo entries, which are the rebase-managed k8s dependency.
origin/patches.
The "Ported from openshift-tests-private" traceability notes in robot suites.
Testing
No remaining harness references: git grep -i 'ginkgo|extended-platform-tests|openshift-tests-private|OPENSHIFT_TESTS_PRIVATE|HANDLERESULT' outside vendor/deps/origin matches only robot traceability docs.
shellcheck -x and bash -n pass on all modified scripts.
Ginkgo scenarios were @lrel-only, so presubmits are unaffected.
Follow-up (not in this PR)
openshift/release still parses ginkgo-results in openshift-microshift-includes-commands.sh and mounts token-git. Both are guarded and still used by older branches, so they're left as-is.
@agullon: This pull request references USHIFT-7585 which is a valid jira issue.
Warning: The referenced jira issue has an invalid target version for the target branch this PR targets: expected the task to target the "5.1.0" version, but no target version was set.

It looks like this branch is under active development. To avoid overwhelming you with review comments due to an influx of new commits, CodeRabbit has automatically paused this review. You can configure this behavior by changing the reviews.auto_review.auto_pause_after_reviewed_commits setting.
The change removes Ginkgo tooling, configuration, runner functions, and selected release scenario scripts. It also removes oc and kubeconfig setup calls from LVMS scenarios. The etcdctl fetch remains.
Removes Ginkgo installation, related configuration and environment exports, and Ginkgo setup and execution functions. The conditional Ginkgo fetch is removed; the etcdctl fetch remains.
The non-bootc release workflow loses two regression checks. Add the ported core-api suite to that workflow; this is a bounded test-coverage gap rather than an established production failure.

Full details: Stable And Deterministic Test Names
Explanation
PASS: The pull request contains only deletions (0 additions across all 20 changed files). It removes Ginkgo scenarios and harness code, and introduces no test titles or legacy metadata tokens. Therefore, it introduces no unstable or overly specific Ginkgo test name.
Full details: Test Structure And Quality
Explanation
PASS: The PR contains only deletions. The diff adds no Ginkgo It() blocks or other test code, so the single-responsibility, setup/cleanup, timeout, assertion-message, consistency, and informing-test checks are not triggered.
Full details: Microshift Test Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The pull request adds no lines. The reviewed diff contains only deletions, including removal of Ginkgo scenarios and harness code. Therefore, it introduces no new Ginkgo tests requiring MicroShift compatibility review.
Full details: Single Node Openshift (Sno) Test Compatibility
Explanation
PASS: The reviewed diff contains 20 changed files and 475 deletions, with no added Ginkgo test constructs or new tests. The pull request removes existing Ginkgo scenarios and harness code, so the SNO multi-node assumption check is not applicable.
Full details: Topology-Aware Scheduling Compatibility
Explanation
The pull request changes only shell scripts and test scenario scripts. It adds or modifies no deployment manifests, operator code, controllers, or scheduling configuration. Therefore, this topology-aware scheduling check is not applicable.
Full details: Ote Binary Stdout Contract
Explanation
PASS: The reviewed range contains 20 shell/template/scenario files, with 475 deletions and no additions or changed Go files. It removes the Ginkgo/OTE harness and does not introduce process-level stdout writes in an OTE binary.
Full details: Ipv6 And Disconnected Network Test Compatibility
Explanation
The pull request adds no files and has zero added lines. The authoritative diff contains only deletions from the Ginkgo harness and removals of setup calls; it introduces no new Ginkgo tests or new network behavior to assess.
Full details: No-Weak-Crypto
Explanation
The pull request adds no code. The authoritative diff is deletion-only (0 additions, 73 total deletions across the changed files). No changed-file snapshot contains MD5, SHA-1, DES, RC4, 3DES, Blowfish, ECB, custom crypto, or non-constant-time secret comparison usage. Therefore, the pull request introduces no weak-crypto issue.
Full details: Container-Privileges
Explanation
The pull request changes only shell scripts and a shell template. The authoritative diff contains 475 deletions and no added lines. No changed content introduces privileged, hostPID, hostNetwork, hostIPC, SYS_ADMIN, allowPrivilegeEscalation, or root container settings.
Full details: No-Sensitive-Data-In-Logs
Explanation
PASS. The reviewed range contains 0 added lines and only removes the Ginkgo/OTP harness, including token setup and Ginkgo output. No changed line adds logging of passwords, tokens, API keys, PII, hostnames, or customer data.

Run the ported core-api suite for non-bootc el98-lrel.
The surviving non-bootc scenario runs only suites/storage1/. The bootc and periodic scenarios do not cover this non-bootc el98-lrel release variant. Add suites/core-api/ to the non-bootc scenario without restoring Ginkgo.

All MicroShift coverage from openshift-tests-private has been migrated to
Robot Framework (epic USHIFT-6690, last cases in USHIFT-7584), so the @Lrel
ginkgo scenarios no longer add coverage. They only cost a private-repo
clone and a full extended-platform-tests build per release run, and they
tie the test harness to a pinned OTP commit.
Remove the ginkgo scenarios, run_ginkgo_tests, the gettool_ginkgo tool
getter (plus its GITHUB_TOKEN/handleresult.py plumbing), the CI pre-fetch,
and the OTP repo pin.
Also remove setup_oc_and_kubeconfig and its calls in the lvms-standard and
multi-config scenarios. Ginkgo was its only real consumer: the LVMS helper
scripts run on the VM over ssh with the VM's own oc/kubeconfig, and
run_tests already installs oc and the robot suites set up their own
kubeconfig.
