I'm a Research Software Engineer in the Environmental Intelligence unit at VITO in Belgium, working on GeoAI and Earth observation platforms, mainly openEO, an open API for processing satellite data at scale. I'm interested in machine learning for geospatial data, Bayesian inference, and open-source scientific software.
Before joining VITO, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Berkeley Center for Cosmological Physics and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, developing Bayesian inference methods for astrophysics.
I maintain pocoMC and zeus, Python packages for Bayesian inference used in analyses by LIGO, DESI, and Euclid.
I received my PhD in Astrophysics from the University of Edinburgh in 2022, with a thesis on scalable, gradient-free Bayesian inference. Before that, I completed Part III (MASt) in Applied Mathematics at the University of Cambridge and a BSc in Physics at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
