Summary
This Linux-runtime fix addresses an unrecoverable command-timeout path in
RepoLaunch.LinuxRuntime.send_command()returns exit code124after its Ctrl-C recovery attempt fails to recover the shell prompt. Before this change, the runtime returned that timeout result while leaving the isolated Docker evaluation container alive. A foreground process that ignoresSIGINTcould therefore keep running after the caller had already been told that the command timed out. This PR:
124timeout result;Minimal reproduction
Using the current
RepoLaunchLinux runtime withcommand_timeout=1minute, I ran a foreground command that ignoresSIGINT:The runtime returned its expected timeout result after about 66 seconds (
124, including the existing 5-second prompt-recovery grace period), but the Docker container was stillrunningand thesleep 90process was still present. That leaves an unowned command running after the timeout boundary. With this patch, the same probe returns
124, marks the runtime stopped, and Docker reports the isolated container as removed immediately after the timeout path.Validation
python -m py_compile launch/core/platforms/linux.py tests/linux_timeout_test.pypython tests/linux_timeout_test.py -v— 2 passedSIGINT;124;git diff --checkScope
This is intentionally Linux-only and limited to the fallback where Ctrl-C does not recover a prompt. It does not alter evaluator scoring, task patches, normal Linux command execution, or the existing timeout-unit contract.
