Computational Physicist · Scientific Software Engineer
I am a Research Software Engineer at the University of Exeter. I build software for simulation and data analysis that researchers run on large data and large compute, and the software stacks beneath it on HPC facilities. More is at kolen.dev.
- python-autojax: the numerical routines I rewrote from Numba to JAX for the PyAutoLens port, with benchmarks.
- lfric-env-isambard: a reproducible build of the Met Office LFRic environment on Isambard 3, built mostly by coding agents against a written specification.
- python-pmpm and so-software-environment: the package manager and the continuously deployed software stack I wrote for the Simons Observatory's UK data centre.
- TOAST: the CMB simulation framework I contributed to for LiteBIRD, including a hybrid-MPI matrix multiplication.
- pantable and pandoc-amsthm: pandoc filters I wrote. I also co-maintained panflute and pandocfilters for a period.
- HPC guide and my Ph.D. dissertation.
