Minutes
Wifi update
- Emre emailed UBC IT about wifi. The person who is dealing with this is on vacation, so they will get back in a couple of weeks.
Participant Applications
- So far, 21 applications
- Mostly well distributed
- Advertising
- Alex will email Stat at SFU
- Baraa will email Math at SFU
- Baraa will email prostate centre
- Sasha will email GRASPODS
- Alex will email previous team leaders
- Emre will email SFU undergrad clubs
- Noushin will email postdoc association
- If he didnt, can Artem email ECOSCOPE about advertising
- Emre will email Bruno about finalizing details for GitHub workshop
- Baraa will email Will, responsible for VanBug mail list, to send advertisement
- Committee for assigning people to teams when applications end
- 3-4 people
- Looking for the first deadline for applications to be around Sept 14, and final deadline around Sept 28.
- Looking for around 75-90 applicants
Logistics
- Sasha will start looking for sponsors for food
- Sasha will try to get the gallery for the social
Website
- If possible, can Artem make the sign up link more visible on the main hackseq page
- Make it obvious that sign ups are now happening, with a link
- Venus made a comment about changing Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research’s logo to the logo attached to the email Venus received. Venus, can you coordinate with Artem?
Zenhub
- If Rob would like to use it, he can, but the other teams should use GitHub.
Sponsors
- We lost Google :(
Computing resources
- Emre will talk with Artem about how many hours we should request from sponsors
- Emre will figure out whether we’re also getting Orca -- talk to Shaun

This will have to go without me, sorry. Will make sure to follow up with the notes post-meeting. I just want to update you all that the facebook account under 'hackseq hackathon' name is not taken down, I think as long as the activities remain within the account, it should be fine. We can use it to advertise our final event like hackseq and promote it. Please feel free to add friendship

Hey all, I've managed come down with something nasty between yesterday and now and am pretty non-functional today. I'm not sure I'll be able to make the meeting, so if someone else could take minutes and assign me things to do, I would really appreciate it! (you don't have to format it all if you don't want to, just send me the rough notes and I can organize it)

oh no! I just saw this. Don't think I'll be able to make it today.
There's no update from me on the sponsorship. I reached out to 1QBit after the last meeting to follow up on their decisions after the phone call I had with them but didn't hear back.
