v1.0.8 — reliable idle notifications + tab shortcuts

Choose a tag to compare

@gurudin gurudin released this 19 Apr 17:15

Replaces the fragile pty-byte heuristic for "agent waiting for input" notifications with a hub-side idle event source. Adds tab shortcuts on the Android home grid.

CLI — any-coding@1.0.8 (source only — not yet on npm)

  • feat(hub): idle/busy/session_ended events — each session tracks an IDLE_MS (default 2500ms, override via ANYCODE_IDLE_MS) silence window. When the pty stops emitting bytes for that long, the hub fires an agent_event{idle} control frame; first byte after that fires busy; pty exit fires session_ended. Replaces client-side ❯-character scanning that broke on spinner redraws and multi-agent TUIs.
  • feat(hub): handleSpawn control frame — clients can request {t:"spawn", agent, cwd} to start a session; cwd is confined to \$HOME and identical requests are deduped within 1s.

Android — AnyCode-v1.0.8-release.apk

  • fix(notifications): event-driven "agent waiting" notifications — TerminalActivity no longer scans pty output for a prompt character. It listens for the hub's agent_event frames and posts a per-session notification (each session gets its own notif id, 30s throttle) so the right tab is highlighted and notifications don't collapse into one.
  • feat(tabs): + new-session button — tail of the tab strip; opens the agent picker and starts a session in \$HOME via the new spawn frame.
  • feat(shortcuts): ShortcutStore — local persistence for new-session shortcuts (agent + cwd presets), survives app restarts.
  • chore(ui): hide reader-mode toggle — the markdown reader icon in the top bar is removed; the underlying view stays in the source tree but is no longer reachable from the UI.

Install

```bash
Android
download AnyCode-v1.0.8-release.apk from this release
CLI (still on 1.0.7 on npm — local install only for 1.0.8)
git clone https://github.com/gurudin/anycoding && cd anycoding/any-code-cli && npm install -g .
```

Upgrading from 1.0.7

  • Android: install the new APK, then on the desktop run any-coding restart-hub so the hub picks up the 1.0.8 wrapper.
  • CLI on npm is still 1.0.7 for now — install from source if you want the new idle/spawn frames; the old ❯-scanning fallback in the 1.0.7 APK is gone, so the new APK requires the 1.0.8 hub for notifications to work.

v1.0.7 — UI overhaul + image paste fix

Choose a tag to compare

@gurudin gurudin released this 18 Apr 08:26

Signal-mockup UI pass for the Android app, plus a CLI fix restoring the [Image #N] attachment flow when tapping the image button from the phone.

CLI — any-coding@1.0.7 (npm)

  • fix(image-paste) — wrap the transmitted tmp-file path in bracketed-paste markers (ESC[200~ … ESC[201~) so Claude Code's TUI recognises it as a real paste and inserts the canonical [Image #N] placeholder. Previously the path was typed as literal text and Claude echoed it verbatim.

Android — AnyCode-v1.0.7-release.apk

  • UI alignment with the new Signal mockup — cyan #22D3EE brand + amber accent, CSS-variable palette applied across login / register / pair / devices / scanner
  • Login + register — gradient logo mark with radial glow, form-field containers with leading icons and password show/hide, real-time "passwords match" check on signup, footer "switch to login / sign up" row
  • Pair — full-screen auth layout, QR-scan primary action, OR divider, big letter-spaced 6-digit code input, subtle back + logout links
  • Devices — full-screen list with top nav, online/offline section headers, consistent inline-SVG monitor/laptop icons (no more emoji rendering drift across devices), pulsing green status dot
  • Terminal top bar — single-row layout: back ‹ + breathing connection dot + DeviceName - projectName title + menu ⋯; session tabs restyled with cyan-accented active state; back navigation uses reverse slide animation
  • Theme — Theme.AnyCode forces status + nav bars to #000 so system chrome blends with the black surfaces everywhere
  • Logo asset — new logo.png (512×512, ~427 KB), replaces the previous text "A" mark

Install

# CLI
npm install -g any-coding

# Android
# download AnyCode-v1.0.7-release.apk from this release

Upgrading from 1.0.6

  • CLI: npm install -g any-coding@latest then any-coding restart-hub
  • Android: install the new APK over the existing one (signed with the same release key, no uninstall needed)

v1.0.6 — first public release

Choose a tag to compare

@gurudin gurudin released this 17 Apr 15:43

First public release. CLI (any-coding@1.0.5 on npm) and the signed Android APK are both available.

Highlights

  • Ships with Claude Code + OpenAI Codex built in — any-coding (alias for claude) or any-coding codex. More agents via the manifest system.
  • Native Android terminal powered by Termux — full ANSI, truecolor, CJK wide chars, alt-screen, bracketed paste. No web embed, no xterm.js.
  • Two networking modes:
    • Cloud — managed relay, 6-digit pair code, 30-day free trial
    • Direct — any-coding hub --public spins a cloudflared quick tunnel; no AnyCoding servers in the path
  • Multi-device — one app binds many PCs; top tab bar switches between concurrent sessions
  • Android i18n — Simplified Chinese (zh-CN) + English fallback for everything else
