startInLoadingState is passed to the survey WebView without a matching renderLoading, so react-native-webview renders its default loading view — an opaque backgroundColor: 'white', 100%×100% absolutely-positioned View. Since the Modal and its container are full-screen, this flashes the entire app white from mount until the remote surveys.umd.cjs bundle finishes loading, then reveals a bottom-anchored survey.
Suggested fix
Drop startInLoadingState, or pass renderLoading={() => <View style={{ flex: 1 }} />} so the placeholder is transparent.
Hi! I'd like to work on this issue. I prepared a minimal fix that removes the unnecessary WebView loading state so the transparent survey container no longer flashes the default white loading view. The change is isolated to the survey WebView and is ready on my fork branch fix/survey-white-loading-flash.
GitHub currently shows that this repository only allows collaborators to open pull requests, so I can't submit the PR from my fork yet.
If external contributions are welcome, could you please let me know the preferred way to submit this change (or enable/invite me for a PR)? The patch is intentionally minimal: it only removes startInLoadingState from the survey WebView to avoid the default opaque white loading view.
