CTO & hands-on engineer · Edge/Workers, data pipelines · Engineering leadership · Building with LLMs & agents since 2024 · Node.js/TypeScript/Python · Remote
I lead a small engineering team as CTO at WeMystic/ImpactingGroup. We build data pipelines, e-mail infrastructure and automation with real revenue depending on them working flawlessly.
Where I add the most value is taking a vague business problem, finding where the data actually breaks, and building the smallest system that fixes it; then explaining the risk and revenue tradeoffs to the business.
- Edge and cloud-native lead-generation pipeline: edge ingestion, rules validation and processing, ESP and external API integrations, data warehouse and analytics reporting
- Multi-ESP, worldwide (consented) mass-mailing operation
- Multi-region e-commerce operation (Brazil and Europe)
- WhatsApp Cloud API integration on Cloudflare Workers
- Data analysis in BigQuery for lead-gen economics (CPL, CPA, scrub rates)
- A GDPR and consent compliance platform used across dozens of public properties
- LLM PoC project (first version april 2024), a chatbot PoC aimed at replacing tree-based decision chats at WeMystic, built on Cloudflare AI Gateway and OpenAI frontier models
- Customer email sentiment analysis and responses, grounded in an internal knowledge base (RAG)
- Analytics pattern analysis and anomaly-detection / early-warning alerting
- Now building with Anthropic models: Claude-generated reporting from pipeline data, and tooling
- Languages: JavaScript (Node.js), TypeScript, Python, some Go, some PHP for legacy
- Edge & cloud: Cloudflare (Workers, D1, KV, R2, AI Gateway), Google Cloud (BigQuery, GKE), AWS (MQS, S3, SES), Azure
- AI: Anthropic, OpenAI, Local (Pi+Hailo-10H)
Building for the web since 1996. Head of frontend at Prodigio (Sonae.com) on mail.pt, digito.pt and evolui.com; nearly 11 years working remotely at SAPO, mainly on SAPO Mail; helped build the BiT/Sonae e-commerce team (Node.js/TypeScript) for Zippy, MO, SportZone and [Worten](https://. Co-founded three web companies and helped bring usability practice to Portugal through APPU and usabilidade.org.
Most of my work lives in private company repositories. What's public here is small tooling and templates.
