[BUG] - Steam executible is not selectable when using Steam snap #1046
Describe the bug
The option to set Steam executable doesn't allow you to select the steam executable.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Click 'change Steam directory' setting in r2modman
Navigate to '~/snap/bin/'
See that Steam executable is not shown despite being in folder
Expected behavior
Steam executable should be shown and select-able.
Additional context
I'm betting this is because the Steam snap is being used and something about that is unaccounted for. In this instance just switching to a native Steam package or the Flatpak is NOT VIABLE and CANNOT be used as a solution.
Old Issue, but I managed to get this working on Ubuntu 25.10 with steam installed via the software application (ie. as a snap) for Valheim.
Note: Make sure to replace with your actual username in all the file paths below.
In r2modman select valheim as your game. In settings you will want to set steam location to /home/<user name>/snap/steam/common/.local/share/Steam/steam.sh. I choose to install games in the default location, so the folder for valheim in r2modman settings ends up being /home/<user name>/snap/steam/common/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Valheim.
Now after setting that, if I go to select game again I got a warning/info message that said to add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="winhttp, version=n,b" "/home/<user name>/config/r2modmanPlus-local/Valheim/linux_wrapper.sh" %command% to launch options in steam launch configuration under settings for valheim.
The start modded from r2modman still did not work. The final piece came from copying the args from "Set Launch Parameters" in r2modman settings into the steam launch configuration. "--doorstop-enabled" "true" "--doorstop-target-assembly" "/home/<user name>/.config/r2modmanPlus-local/Valheim/profiles/Default/BepInEx/core/BepInEx.Preloader.dll" "--r2profile" "Default"
So the final launch options in Steam ends up being:

Now, when you launch the game from steam the mods from r2podman will be loaded.
I hope this helps!
