…than E2B On 206 saved questions, where few correct sentences may change E2B keeps more corrections (44 of 56 against 34 with at most 6 of 150 changed). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01TxRMoAtBqwUZXAvBmzVhC4
The grammar has only fragments for the idiom (so much the better, all the better, so much the worse for them), and the version without 'the' parses; E2B preferred it (82%) in the second development set. The test fails without the guard; no real error of the corpus is such a deletion. 'Most refractory coatings to date' was flagged as 'to data' (81%) in the second development set: the lexicon has 'to date' as one item, though the ranker preferred 'date' as a verb, so any reading counts. The test fails without the guard; recall on the 34 pairs is re-measured next. …phere' E2B preferred 'Sphere' (97%) in the second development set; vSphere is in the software terms. A word the technical lists know and the main list does not is not given real-word neighbours. The test fails without the guard. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01TxRMoAtBqwUZXAvBmzVhC4
'the logic around handling errors into main' was flagged as 'from main' (87%) in the second development set, as 'within an area' was as 'in'. No real error of the corpus replaces into, within, onto, upon, without, throughout or inside (three add within). The test fails with the narrower guard. …ence Three false flags of the model path in the second development set: - 'Landed an extension' to 'Lans' (95%): the list has LANs, which the case-blind lookup found for 'lans'; inflections and real-word neighbours are now taken only as listed in lower case. - '2 detailed updates available.' to 'update' (92%, four times): no plural made singular after a number other than one. - 'rust-lang/rust#137944 is ready!' to 'A rust' (83%): issue references are code-like (a name to the parser), and no edit touches one. Each test case fails without its guard. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01TxRMoAtBqwUZXAvBmzVhC4

…epts
The rerun of the second development set's sample showed 'what they were
talking of' to 'talking about' (86%): the grammar reads talk_of_v1 with
of_prtcl, a preposition the verb selects. A merely modifying one
('interested on chess' to 'in') can still be corrected. The test fails
without the guard.

Two things: whether a larger model helps the model path (it doesn't), and the false flags of the model path on the second development set, with guards for 10 of the 14 false ones.
A 12B model on the same measurements
Gemma 3 12B (4-bit, 6.9 GB) fits in 16 GB with
EMDYSI_LM_MMAP=0 EMDYSI_LM_CTX=1024(from #82).Caveats: the questions were chosen by E2B, and the 12B model is another family. Still, nothing argues for the larger model here, so E2B stays the default.
The model path on the second development set
A sixteenth of the set (1,095 sentences) gave 18 flags, 4 of them real errors (realitime, anyeone, a overflow, allowing to disable). Guards for 10 of the 14 false ones:
Left: three flags in an Austen chapter (into a hackney coach to with, contrive to control, the thoughtless) and one unknown term (sret). Two broader guards (no preposition swap, no similar-stem word swap) were tried and dropped: they broke interested on chess to in, the case the model path is for. No threshold separates either: real gains scored 82–99%, these false flags 81–97%.
Each guard has a test that fails without it.
