I tried setting `WORK_DIR` manually at the top of my bash script but it seems to be overwritten here: https://github.com/dflydev/git-subsplit/blob/master/git-subsplit.sh#L50 Is there a way around this currently?

@milesj Not currently. If you want to experiment, you can add a line like this one:
https://github.com/dflydev/git-subsplit/blob/master/git-subsplit.sh#L67
That should allow you to be able to specify
--work-dir /whatever/you/wantto thegit subsplitcommand. If you add that, try it, test it out, and it works, I'd accept a PR to allow it. I'd do it myself but I don't have the time to do it right now.
FWIW, the help docs look like this was intended functionality even though it doesn't appear to actually have been implemented:
https://github.com/dflydev/git-subsplit/blob/master/git-subsplit.sh#L20
