A user with a second factor enabled who signs in with a sign-in token still has to complete their second factor. Some customers who issue these tokens from their backend want them to complete the sign-in without that prompt. The Backend API now accepts `second_factor_verification` on sign-in token creation (clerk/clerk_go#23112): `fresh` treats the second factor as verified at sign-in, and `stale` treats it as unverified, so a reverification that requires a second factor still prompts for one. When it is set, `expires_in_seconds` defaults to 10 minutes. This exposes it as `secondFactorVerification` on `createSignInToken()`, and makes `expiresInSeconds` optional, matching the API. Looks good 🚀 🚢
One minor doc note: update this comment to include the 10-minute default expiry when secondFactorVerification is set. It feeds into the createSignInToken() reference docs.

💡 Result:
Clerk’s **`createSignInToken()`** supports `expiresInSeconds`, which sets how long the sign-in token remains valid. The default is **2,592,000 seconds (30 days)**. The documented parameters are `userId`, optional `orgId`, and `expiresInSeconds`; the docs do **not** list `secondFactorVerification` as a parameter. If you mean second-factor verification during a regular sign-in flow, Clerk documents that separately as part of the sign-in lifecycle—not as a `createSignInToken()` option. ([clerk.com](https://clerk.com/docs/reference/types/sign-in-second-factor?utm_source=openai))

Sync the published API documentation with this contract.
The API reference and email-link guides still describe the old createSignInToken() contract. Update them to mark expiresInSeconds as optional, document secondFactorVerification, and include the conditional 10-minute default.

Description
A user with a second factor enabled who signs in with a sign-in token still has to complete their second factor. Some customers who issue these tokens from their backend want them to complete the sign-in without that prompt. clerk/clerk_go#23112 adds
second_factor_verificationtoPOST /v1/sign_in_tokens:fresh: the second factor is treated as verified at sign-in (fvasecond factor age 0).stale: the second factor is treated as unverified (fvasecond factor age 99999), so a reverification that requires a second factor still prompts for one.It has no effect for users without a second factor. When it is set,
expires_in_secondsdefaults to 10 minutes.This adds
secondFactorVerification?: 'fresh' | 'stale'tocreateSignInToken(). It also makesexpiresInSecondsoptional, since the API never required it and defaults it.Merge after clerk/clerk_go#23112 is deployed. Until then the API ignores the field, so the token would still prompt for the second factor.
Tested with
SignInTokenApi.test.ts, which checks the param is sent assecond_factor_verification.Checklist
