Raise requires-python to >=3.10 so uv run can resolve the project #43
pyproject.toml declares requires-python = ">=3.8", but the telemetry extra pins opentelemetry-api==1.43.0, which needs Python 3.10 or later. uv run resolves for every Python version in the declared range and so fails before running anything:
No solution found when resolving dependencies for split (markers: python_full_version >= '3.8' and python_full_version < '3.10'):
Because the requested Python version (>=3.8) does not satisfy Python>=3.10 and opentelemetry-api==1.43.0 depends on Python>=3.10 ...
uv pip install -e ".[tests]" into a venv works, because it resolves only for the venv's interpreter, so the project is installable; it is just uv run and uv sync that can't be used.
Raising requires-python to >=3.10 fixes it. The classifiers already stop at 3.9 as the oldest listed version, and the Docker image runs 3.12, so nothing supported is lost. The biothings==1.0.2 pin may constrain the upper end too; worth checking which 3.x it supports while there.
