The SDK now requires PHP 8.2 or later #3385

Open

Description

@stobrien89

Starting on 10/22/2026, Version 3.402.0 of the AWS SDK for PHP has raised its minimum supported PHP version from 8.1 to 8.2, consistent with the AWS SDKs and Tools Maintenance Policy.

This change follows the disclosure of CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619 in the PHP runtime.

We strongly recommend upgrading to one of the following patched releases:

  • PHP 8.2.35 or later
  • PHP 8.3.36 or later
  • PHP 8.4.27 or later
  • PHP 8.5.12 or later

The SDK’s new PHP 8.2 minimum does not itself guarantee that the installed runtime contains these fixes. Customers should verify their PHP patch version or confirm that their distributor has backported the fixes.
