📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe ChangesWorktree bootstrap and update flow
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~30 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to Post-create setup may receive mise trust and ceiling paths for the source checkout rather than the target worktree, potentially leaving newly created worktrees misconfigured. The PR is otherwise mergeable, but this bounded correctness risk needs explicit owner awareness or follow-up. Sequence Diagram(s)sequenceDiagram

Clear inherited Git discovery ceilings
When a nested Rails app relies on a repository-level mise config and the caller exports GIT_CEILING_DIRECTORIES at or below that repository, this git rev-parse cannot discover the Git root even though the listed repository selectors are unset. The fallback consequently treats the app directory as the trust root, sets the mise ceiling to its parent, and excludes the repository config, so under the documented sparse PATH the wrapper cannot bootstrap its configured Ruby. Fresh evidence beyond the earlier GIT_DIR/GIT_WORK_TREE case is that GIT_CEILING_DIRECTORIES=/repo/apps reproducibly makes discovery from /repo/apps/app fail; clear this discovery control for the lookup as well.

Validate the explicit update target as a Rails app
When the optional path names any existing directory inside the repository—such as a mistyped apps directory or even .git—this accepts it and ProjectMaintenance treats the missing required files as fixable, causing non-dry-run update to create bin/wt and config/initializers/rails_worktrees.rb there. The analogous explicit setup path verifies bin/rails before proceeding; apply an equivalent Rails-app check here before allowing maintenance writes.
Useful? React with 👍 / 👎.
