We have a use case where we need to build images inside containers on macOS, usually this could be done by exposing the docker socket, which is not ideal. But now since container runs containers within micro-VMs can we run a docker daemon/instance of container inside a container?

Yes, you should be able to run the dind images with container. Give it a try and let us know if you run into any blockers.
