Hello. I have the latest version installed on Windows and for some reason it cannot sync, I get HTTP 422 · VALIDATION_FAILED · This path is not eligible for vault sync. What does this mean? Tried to ask you guys via Discord but the verification code never reaches my phone for validation.
I have to reopen this, I thought it went away when I basically created a new vault folder and the just moved the files from the old one in it. It synced fine up until today when I created a new folder inside ZenNotes and a few notes under it, I started to get the same error as before. What is going on?
Thanks for reopening this with the detail about the new folder: that was the clue.
The cause was on our side, in the Cloud server. When an assistant edits a note through ZenNotes' MCP server, the app keeps a small record of what the note said before, in .zennotes/agent-edits/, so you can review the change on any device. The app syncs those records, but the Cloud server's list of files it accepts had never been told about them. The server refused the whole batch, so once one record existed, every sync after it failed with "This path is not eligible for vault sync." Moving your notes into a new vault left the old records behind, which is why it worked for a while; the next assistant edit in the new vault brought it back.
The fix is on the server and has been live since 14:19 UTC today (ZenNotes/website#98), so there is nothing to update on your side. Your next sync should go through. If it still fails, open Settings, Vault, Cloud, choose Sync now, and paste the text under Details here.
