Clear pendingRetainedRevalidations on persisted final unload.
When the reference count reaches zero, cleanupQueryIfIdle leaves the shared promise in the map. A same-turn reacquisition can then receive the revoked promise from shareRetainedRevalidation instead of starting fresh work.

Import createSingleRowRefProxy from the source tree, not from dist.
The query collection test configuration resolves @tanstack/db to packages/db/src. The current import loads the proxy from packages/db/dist, which uses a different REF_PROXY_BRAND symbol. Source isRefProxy checks can therefore reject these proxies, so the oracle may exercise the plain-object path instead. The dist file is also absent from a fresh checkout until db is built.

Closing for now. The main change avoids a duplicate request when a direct equality demand and a singleton join demand coincide, but the persisted-key migration and lifecycle code add substantial weight for that benefit. This branch also exposed a separate literal RefProxy key collision: two distinct proxy objects with the same path can evaluate differently when passed as Value literals yet receive the same query identity. That input is unusual, and we have no production report. If someone encounters it in production, we can revisit it as a focused fix. This PR was also stacked on the now-closed #2158. |
🎯 Changes
An equality filter and a one-value join demand can ask for the same rows. They previously used different request identities. That could start duplicate fetches and give the two views separate ownership records.
This PR gives those demands one identity when the membership value is a non-null literal. Each view keeps its rows until its own acquisition ends.
Persisted collections
Older versions stored singleton membership demands under another key. A current demand now finds the historical owner before it revalidates the source. A successful result transfers or retires the old row claim and retention marker. A failed fetch keeps both.
The first metadata scan can overlap a retention deadline. A matching pending demand protects its old owner through scan delivery and result application. An unrelated owner still expires at its deadline. An aborted or unloaded demand releases that protection.
A historical filtered owner can coexist with an active full-source Query. Revalidation waits for a new applied source result before it moves that owner's claim. Overlapping fetches take their source order from query-function invocation. An accepted direct write keeps its value until a later authoritative source result applies.
The old encoder also gave distinct literal reference proxies one key when their paths matched. A successful matching proxy demand retires that ambiguous old owner. A failed demand leaves it in place.
Scope and evidence
This PR builds on #2158, which keeps shared Query fetches alive for Collection owners. Review #2158 first. The combined tree uses the published Query Core APIs in the current peer range.
The executable merge at
2089e0630passed 1,060 Query DB runtime checks and 589 type assertions. Both package typechecks, the replay registry, andcheck:manglepassed. An independent exact-merge review ran 70 IR identity checks and 86 selected ownership checks. The oracle review records the laws, original failures, hostile controls, and limits. The identity law covers the tested literal values and predicate forms. The upgrade tests cover static on-demand keys, named retention schedules, and primitive real SQLite restarts. They do not establish every application schedule or a row-bearing historical proxy upgrade.
Separate issues track function-based key migration, historical-key parsing cost, literal-proxy wire semantics, and receiving histories omitted during integration.
