Workwise is a high-performance, real-time collaboration platform designed for teams who need more than just one tool. Built with modern technologies like Next.js and Convex, it seamlessly integrates real-time messaging, visual task management, and AI-powered planning into a single, unified experience.
Key Highlights:
- One Unified Platform: No more context switching between chat and task apps.
- Real-Time Everything: Powered by Convex for near-instant synchronization across all project data.
- AI-First Workflow: Leverage AI to plan project roadmaps and optimize team velocity.
To get a local copy of Workwise up and running, follow these simple steps.
- npm or bun
npm install npm@latest -g
- Clone the repo
git clone https://github.com/SimpleCyber/workwise.git
- Install NPM packages
npm install # or bun install - Set up your
.env.localCONVEX_DEPLOYMENT=your_deployment_name NEXT_PUBLIC_CONVEX_URL=your_convex_url
- Start the Convex dev server
npx convex dev
- Start the Next.js development server
npm run dev
Workwise is designed to be intuitive. Create a workspace, invite your team, and start collaborating instantly.

Zero-Knowledge Secrets & Environment Vault (Infisical Architecture)
Workwise features a Zero-Knowledge End-to-End Encrypted (E2EE) Secrets Engine inspired by Infisical. Manage mission-critical API keys, database credentials, .env configurations, SSL certificates, and secret files with mathematical guarantees that even database administrators and the owner of Workwise cannot decode your data.

CONVEX BACKEND & DATABASE

- ZERO access to Private Keys or Passphrases
- Database Admins & Workwise Owners see ONLY unreadable cryptographic noise
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
- Zero-Knowledge Identity (PBKDF2 + RSA-OAEP-2048):
- Each user generates an asymmetric RSA-OAEP key pair directly in their browser.
- The user's private key is encrypted client-side using a User Encryption Key derived from their master passphrase via PBKDF2 (SHA-256, 100,000 iterations).
- Only the encrypted private key and the public key are sent to Convex. The server never receives the passphrase.
- Project Master Key Envelope (AES-256-GCM):
- Each workspace/project generates a 256-bit symmetric Project Key in browser memory.
- The project key is wrapped using the user's RSA-OAEP public key. The database only ever stores ciphertext envelopes.
- Multi-Party Safe Secrets Sharing:
- Sharing access with a teammate wraps the Project Key with that teammate's personal public key.
- Teammates decrypt the key in their own browsers without the server ever intercepting it.
- Environment Variables & Secret Files:
- Environment keys, values, and comments are encrypted with AES-256-GCM (12-byte IV per secret).
- Sensitive files (
.env,.pem,.crt,.jsonservice accounts) are encrypted client-side before being uploaded to storage. - One-click bulk
.envimport and decrypted.envexport across Development, Staging, Production, and Testing environments.
- Real-time Messaging
- Kanban Board Integration
- AI Planner (Alpha)
- Zero-Knowledge Secrets & Environment Vault (E2EE)
- Multi-language Support
- Advanced Mobile Analytics
