Make sure that all infores curies are valid #2937

Open

Description

@edeutsch

I learned yesterday that the main UI is throwing away all edges or maybe even KGs that have invalid infores curies. (see Slack discussion in very long thread in channel #outages on 2026-10-27)

ARAX has some issues on this. Richard is updating his validator to detect this. Version 7.1.1 is getting close, but is not 100% yet. But it is flagging this error:

Image

infores:arax-xdtd is apparently made up and not in the registry.
The UI may be throwing all this away. Unclear.

Catalog is here:

    Interesting bit of trivia: it was revealed in the Slack thread mentioned above yesterday:

    Gus said:
    The way we process analyses is very strict: If we can’t verify a node/edge is valid for an analysis we consider the entire analysis poisoned and throw it out. For the ARAX result there is one analysis graph and deep in there is an edge that claims a primary source of infores:geneticskp which does not appear in the infores catalog. Since we can’t confirm the source of this edge we throw away everything.

    and later says:
    Anything where an edge, node, or support graph is not considered valid. These are:

    • The primary source doesn't exist or we can't validate it exists (is not in the catalog)
    • A node appears in an analysis but not in the KG
    • An edge appears in an analysis but not in the KG
    • A support graph binding appears in an analysis but is not in the auxiliary graphs
