The page on cryptography is out of date and is always going to struggle to be current
Revise the page so that it leads the user to the various sources that describe present day cryptography
@jgadsden thanks for asking. i was thinking of shifting this page from a lengthy explanation of cryptographic algorithms and modes to a brief overview of the core concepts, followed by links to reliable, actively maintained guidance. i'd keep the essential concepts developers need to understand, update or remove outdated examples such as rc4 and legacy cipher modes, and direct readers to resources like asvs v5, relevant owasp cheat sheets, and current nist cryptography guidance for practical implementation details. the goal is to avoid duplicating information that frequently changes and instead help developers find the right, up-to-date source for their needs.
@bhushan4work please ensure that you have read the code of conduct and contributing guide, with particular reference to the use of AI in issues, comments and contributions
