Context

Implementation

  • New mention() reads product names in a title: "Kilo Desktop", "Agent Manager" and "JetBrains". The names map to area:desktop, area:agent-manager and area:jetbrains.
    • Issues: the form answer still wins. Without an answer, the title names are used.
    • PRs: title names are added to the area found from the scope and the changed files.
    • Sweep: it checks title names for every open community PR on each run. This costs no extra request, so PRs that already have an area still get the new one.
    • VS Code is not in the list on purpose, because titles often mention it in passing.
  • community-sweep.yml has a new manual input slack, ticked by default. Untick it to run without posting. Scheduled runs always post. It covers the bot post and the webhook fallback.
  • The doc describes both.

Existing issues are not labeled again until they are edited. Backfill with gh issue edit <number> --add-label area:desktop.

How to Test

Manual/local verification

  • Agent ran bun test community-triage.test.ts from script/kilocode/ (46 pass), the script typecheck, Prettier, the table-padding check and a YAML parse.

Reviewer test steps

  1. After merge, edit the title of an open "(Kilo Desktop)" issue without a label and check that area:desktop appears.
  2. Run "Community sweep" by hand with "slack" unticked. Check that nothing is posted to Slack.
  3. Run it again with "slack" ticked and check that the post appears.

Blocked checks and substitute verification

  • The workflows were not run on GitHub before merge. Unit tests cover the title matching. The Slack condition was only checked by reading the YAML.

Code Review Summary

Status: No Issues Found | Recommendation: Merge

Reviewed the title-based area labeling (mention() in script/kilocode/community-triage.ts), the optional Slack manual input in .github/workflows/community-sweep.yml, and the doc/test updates. The title regexes are word-boundary anchored and covered by unit tests, areas()/onevent()/sweep() dedupe correctly, and the workflow post gate skips both the bot post and the webhook fallback for manual runs with Slack unticked while scheduled runs always post.
