[Feature Request]: Add a toggle for Open File vs. reveal in folder #3073

Summary

Add a toggle that lets users choose what Open File does for a completed output: open the file itself or reveal it in its containing folder.

Problem

Opening the file directly can launch an unexpected default application. Other times users want the file opened immediately. A single fixed behavior cannot serve both workflows, and the previous folder-opening behavior was useful for locating the output and related files.

Proposed behavior

• Add a clearly labeled toggle/preference for Open File behavior:
  • Open the file in its default application.
  • Show in folder and select the file where supported.
• Use the selected behavior whenever the user clicks Open File after an export or completed file action.
• Persist the user's choice across app restarts.
• Avoid opening a visible terminal/console as a side effect; see #2309.
