noticed a powershell window was popping up on startup that never used to, and it coincided with the 1.4.4 update for me. I disabled and re-enabled starting on windows startup and it seems to have gone away. Was just a little disconcerting that something was starting a blank powershell window.
I can confirm that it is indeed SimplyPrint that opens the Powershell window. The issue is that Windows Task Scheduler doesn't respect the -WindowStyle Hidden attribute for Powershell. Looking into possible solutions.

Gotta love APIs that lie lol. Thanks for looking into it!
Also, it is running on startup for me so no issue there.
Thanks so much for writing this, I use it multiple times a day! It's great software
@AlbertMN it works adding "-ExecutionPolicy Bypass" to the script.
The right script should be:
powershell.exe -WindowStyle Hidden -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file "C:\Program Files (x86)\AssistantComputerControl\ExtraCleanupper.ps1"
@PatheticBot ah, yeah don't think the tasks get deleted on uninstall, that's definitely a bug - will fix.
To manually delete them, go to Windows Task Scheduler and delete everything that says "AssistantComputerControl" or "ACC".
October 4
When you delete those files ACC doesn't start up with Windows anymore.
So... went in ACC and checked Start with Windows. Restarted and PowerShell comes up again at startup taking half the screen and it won't close with Task Manager, you just have to wait for it to close.
Have ACC running on 5 PC's no problem... except one... with the PowerShell bug.
October 5
I notice if I run ACC manually, and then go to task scheduler, ACC adds the line I removed. It's the task to remove the txt file using PowerShell (?) . If you reboot you get the corrupted PowerShell on boot again.
I'm going to try deleting all references of ACC in the registry and installing 4.1.1 and see where that leads me.
@brian316 just go to Task Manager in Windows, and delete everything that says "ACC". The next update fixes this bug, and also adds uninstall-cleanup so the tasks are auto-deleted.
Hi, I appreciate this is marked closed but I think it remains an issue in 1.4.6. I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled this multiple times, it goes fine until you restart the PC a few times, then I get this error.

Hmh, it's possible that it's ACC that opens it (the cleanup script is a powershell script). Will look into this, thanks.

with the new version 1.44, the AssistantComputerControl don't start with windows 10 desktop.

Not laptop?

my computer is desktop and it has the same problem as version 1.42

Go to Windows Task Scheduler and delete both tasks in there that says "ACC", then restart the software and it should work
rubensaquino2 commentedon May 22, 2021
I reinstalled the previous version (1.4.3), and the problem was resolved.
AlbertMN commentedon May 22, 2021
So, the issue is there on v1.4.4 and not 1.4.3?

O.O dammit, gonna have to check that out... Thanks.

Looking into whether this has been fixed in the new version that is in the works. Can't get it to happen on my PC

New test version that could possibly have fixed this issue can be found here; #115 - feedback wanted

99.9% sure this is fixed now :) There were multiple issues with this, and in all my tests it's now fixed.
