Summary

  • Document Monday and Thursday editorial reviews, stable edition identities in Pacific time, and the five-day collection health threshold.
  • Clarify that release-number gaps are expected for curated product updates and that scheduled reviews do not require filler posts.
  • Document separate manual announcements with stable article keys, selected-source ownership, and publication monitoring after merge; rerunning the scheduled workflow retains its edition identity.

Type of Change

  • Documentation update

Testing

  • Hosted Sim acceptance verified 10 edition-date cases, including distinct Monday/Thursday editions, retries, Pacific/UTC boundaries, daylight saving, and the new year. The prior weekly calculation failed the new Thursday expectations.
  • Validated the affected workflow graphs and fresh deployed configuration. Regenerated committed artifacts with no changes; git diff --check passed.
  • No local test suites; repository checks run in CI. This PR changes maintenance documentation only.

Checklist

  • Code follows project style guidelines
  • Self-reviewed my changes
  • Tests added/updated and passing (new tests pass the test-audit authoring gate)
  • No new warnings introduced
  • I confirm that I have read and agree to the terms outlined in the Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

[Low impact] The documentation changes appear safe to merge.

Summary

Documents twice-weekly editorial reviews and a separate path for manual announcements.

  • The changelog guide sets editorial reviews for Monday and Thursday.
  • Scheduled and manual editions keep separate, stable identities.
  • The daily collection check flags a missed run after five days.

Delivery review complete. The final reviewed-head PR CI run and staging merge-push/deployment passed, including mobile E2E. The PR has 26 successful and 23 skipped check contexts, with none pending or failed. The staging run completed 31 jobs successfully and skipped 15.

Greptile reports 5/5 on the final head. Cubic reports 5/5 with its stated summary-only budget limitation. The manual-edition finding was fixed, replied to, and resolved; the complete thread listing has no unresolved threads. The user merged before mobile CI finished; completion is confirmed by these subsequent results.

The live editorial schedule is Monday and Thursday at 9 a.m. Pacific, with daily publication checks at 9:15. Hosted acceptance passed the ten calendar, retry, timezone, and daylight-saving cases. Scheduled drafts still require human factual, copy, and media review. The separate manual-announcement path is documented. The first natural Thursday tick has not yet occurred.

This follow-up changes documentation only. The six hosted changelog articles retain the completed desktop/mobile, media, canonical, RSS, and sitemap review recorded on #8942. Production publication remains part of the normal release process.
