There are occasional reports of typo in translations that are opened in bugs.python.org and it would make sense to redirect to respective GitHub repos for the translations.

On https://docs.python.org/zh-cn/3/bugs.html we emphasis that translation bugs should be reported at GitHub. So that's why I want the footer link same as previous (link to translated bugs.html).
For comparison, the Report a bug link in the page sidebar already stays within the translated documentation because CPython renders it with pathto("bugs").
A fix will likely need coordinated changes so the local bugs target is resolved relative to the current page (for example through Sphinx pathto), while preserving support for an external URL configured by other theme users.

On footer of https://docs.python.org/fr/3.8, "Found a bug?" links to https://docs.python.org/3/bugs.html
It should be https://docs.python.org/fr/3.8/bugs.html as 3.7 version.

This needs to be moved to
python-docs-theme. Localization is ongoing there. cc @rffontenellem-aciek commentedon Aug 24, 2026
This is still reproducible in the current Python 3.14 documentation.
On https://docs.python.org/fr/3.14/, the footer link Un bogue ? has
href="/bugs.html". It therefore leaves the translated documentation and redirects to the English page at https://docs.python.org/3/bugs.html. The expected target is https://docs.python.org/fr/3.14/bugs.html, preserving both the current language and version. The source of the absolute link spans two repositories:
issues_urlas"/bugs.html".theme_issues_urldirectly tohref. For comparison, the Report a bug link in the page sidebar already stays within the translated documentation because CPython renders it with
pathto("bugs").A fix will likely need coordinated changes so the local
bugstarget is resolved relative to the current page (for example through Sphinxpathto), while preserving support for an external URL configured by other theme users.
