Download the latest signed Android APK from GitHub Releases. The badge updates automatically when a new Android preview is published after a successful build on main.
To receive Android preview updates through Obtainium, add Trustroots to Obtainium. Confirm the import in Obtainium; it follows the signed APKs from GitHub prereleases. If the link does not open, add http://github.com/Trustroots/trustroots in Obtainium and enable prereleases.
The signed preview APK also offers optional alerts under Account → APK updates for members who installed it directly. These alerts open the GitHub release page; the app does not install updates automatically.
Zapstore publishing is configured for the Android preview. A Trustroots publisher must complete the one-time identity and signing-certificate link before its listing appears.

Trustroots is actively developed again. After a period focused mainly on maintenance from 2022 to June 2026, we welcome contributions and improvements.
Current areas of work include:
- Simplifying older code and reducing duplication.
- Improving the development setup and updating dependencies.
- Continuing the move to React and TypeScript where it makes sense.
- Developing the Nostr/Nostroots integration.
- Making Trustroots easier to run independently and adapt for forks.
