Add Model with LM Studio Got Error #13591

This issue is likely caused by a recent change to how RAGFlow verifies models. In March 2026, RAGFlow switched model verification from synchronous to streaming responses. Since LM Studio logs show requests are being received, the connection itself works—the failure is in the response validation. Most likely cause: LM Studio may not be returning a properly formatted streaming response that RAGFlow expects within the 10-second timeout. Quick things to check:
Since this worked previously with the same configuration, this does appear to be related to the streaming verification change in the new version. Could you share which RAGFlow version you upgraded from and to? To reply, just mention @dosu. Docs are dead. Just use Dosu. |

@jacksonasl-07 This looks like a real verification / compatibility issue, not a connection issue. Since LM Studio logs show the request arriving, RAGFlow is at least reaching the server. The failure is happening in the model access check, not in basic HTTP connectivity. That matches the maintainer-style diagnosis in the discussion: the request is received, but RAGFlow is not accepting the returned response as a valid model verification result. A few likely causes:
A practical way to confirm where the break is: curl -X POST http://localhost:1234/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"model": "your-model-name",
"messages": [{"role":"user","content":"Hi"}],
"stream": true
}' |
Uh oh!

When adding a model using LM Studio, even after entering the correct model name and URL, it still displays an "access failed" message. However, checking the LM Studio logs, which received the request, so why can't it connect? Even verify a previously successfully added model (with the same configuration) results in the same "access failed" error. Is this a bug in the new version of RAGFlow?
