Hey, this is a really sweet project idea honestly. Building something for your mom that actually makes her day easier > building yet another to-do app for the 500th time, so kudos for that. Since you've already got the idea and workflow figured out, the coding part is honestly the easy bit to outsource/learn — you're not stuck on the hard part. A couple of paths depending on how much time/patience you have: If you just want it working soon and don't care about learning to code right now, look into Glide or Softr. You basically hook them up to a Google Sheet and they spit out a working app/dashboard. For something like a nurse's daily task tracker, this would honestly take you an afternoon, not weeks. If you're open to learning a bit (and I'd honestly recommend this since you clearly have the product sense already), Firebase or Supabase + a simple HTML/JS front end is the move. You don't need to know backend stuff, hosting, servers etc — Firebase handles auth and the database for you. There are a ton of "build a simple dashboard with Firebase" tutorials on YouTube that'll get you 90% there, and then you just tweak it to match your mom's actual workflow. One thing I'd say — don't try to build the whole thing you designed in one go. Pick the one part of her day that's most annoying right now (shift notes? patient checklist? meds tracking?) and just build that first. Get her actually using it, see what she complains about, then add the rest. Way less overwhelming than trying to ship the full vision on attempt one. Also, small thing — the screenshot you attached isn't showing up publicly (probably a permissions thing on the image link), so if you want more specific feedback on the design itself, might be worth re-uploading it or dropping a public image link. Good luck with it, this is a genuinely nice thing to build for your mom 🙏 |

Love this project idea — a nurse dashboard is very buildable. Here is a practical path: Recommended stack (simple + maintainable)

UI tips for a nurse-facing app
MVP in 1–2 weekendsImportantIf storing real patient data, check local healthcare/privacy rules (HIPAA-like requirements). For a personal/family tool with anonymized demo data, standard auth + HTTPS is fine. Happy to help refine wireframes or schema if you share the workflow you sketched! |

Hi @parth270520 — how is the nurse dashboard project going? If you share your workflow sketch or wireframe, I can suggest a simpler MVP scope to get something deployed for your mom quickly. |
since you already have the workflow and design concept I’d actually recommend starting with the frontend before worrying about the database or backend.Build the dashboard with mock data first and make sure the complete workflow feels right. Dashboard / home screen You can use React /Next.js and just keep the data in a local array initially. once the UI works correctly, replace the mock data with Supabase/ API calls. I’d also keep your components small and reusable. For EX, things like Button, Input, Modal, Card and Table can be reused instead of rebuilding them on every page. one thing I would not do is start by building authentication, database tables, deployment, and the entire UI at the same time. That makes it much harder to know where something is going wrong if you’re new to coding. A good order would be... And since this is for a nurse I’d prioritize usability over fancy design: clear labels, large buttons, good contrast, minimal clicks and making the most common action accessible from the main screen. once you have the first screen working, you can share the code/error here and get help with the next specific step rather than trying to build the whole application at once. |

Hey Parth, this is a really good use case, especially since the dashboard is designed around an actual healthcare workflow rather than being just a generic admin panel.
The dashboard can then simply consume aggregated API data such as: This also makes the alert system much easier to implement. For example, instead of manually entering "Vaccination Overdue = 3", the backend can calculate it from vaccination schedules and patient records. But here's the important part

Hi Parth, building a health worker dashboard to make your mom's daily work easier is a fantastic and inspiring initiative! The UI mockup you shared looks incredibly clean, professional, and well-structured. Since you have the workflow and design ready but are stuck on the development part due to a lack of coding experience, here are a few practical paths you can take to bring this to life: AI-Assisted Coding: You can use AI tools like v0 by Vercel or Cursor. By uploading your design screenshot to v0.dev, it can automatically generate a working React and Tailwind CSS frontend for you.Recommended Tech Stack: If you want to build it from scratch, Next.js/React paired with Tailwind CSS is perfect for this. For the backend and saving patient records, Supabase or Firebase are very beginner-friendly.No-Code Alternatives: If you want to skip coding entirely, platforms like Bubble.io or Retool allow you to build this exact dashboard using a drag-and-drop interface. As a full-stack MERN developer who also works with AI automations, I love seeing projects with real-world impact like this. If you decide to make this open-source or need some initial help setting up the Next.js environment and database, I would be more than happy to collaborate and guide you.I highly recommend creating a GitHub repository for this and sharing the link here so the community can start contributing directly. Best of luck with this amazing project! |

Hello everyone!
Can anyone help me with UI design and web development?
My mom is a nurse, and I want to build a simple web app/dashboard for her to make her daily work easier.
I already have the idea, design concept, and complete workflow ready, but I don’t know coding, so I’m stuck with the development part.
